Tulsi is located in the heart of Carytown at 3131 W. Cary Street, Richmond, VA. We specialize in authentic North Indian cuisine, crafted with fresh ingredients, balanced spices, and recipes inspired by our family's heritage.
What does the name "Tulsi" mean?
Tulsi is the holy basil plant, cherished in India for its healing qualities and cultural significance. The name reflects the heart, tradition, and hospitality behind everything we do.

Reservations & Dining Experience
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, but walk-ins are always welcome. Wait times during peak hours may range from 20–40 minutes.
Do you offer outdoor seating?
Yes. Our patio is open seasonally and offers a lively view of Carytown. Well-behaved pets are welcome on the patio, and we'll gladly provide water bowls.
Is Tulsi family-friendly and accessible?
We welcome guests of all ages and strive to accommodate mobility needs whenever possible. Because our building is historic, we recommend calling ahead if you require special accessibility accommodations.
Menu & Dietary Accommodations
Do you offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or other dietary accommodations?
Yes. Our menu features a wide variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. We also offer halal-certified meats and can help guide guests with Jain dietary preferences.
Can you accommodate food allergies?
We take allergies seriously and will do our best to accommodate your needs. While we cannot guarantee against cross-contact, our team is happy to discuss options with you before ordering.
Can I adjust the spice level of my meal?
Absolutely. Most dishes can be prepared to your preferred spice level, ranging from mild to traditional Indian heat.
What are some guest favorites?
Popular dishes include Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, Palak Paneer, Gobhi Manchurian, and Lentil Soup. Don't forget to ask about our craft cocktails, including our signature Alphonso.
Takeout & Delivery
Do you offer takeout and delivery?
Yes. You can order directly through our website or through DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub. Most takeout orders are ready within 20–30 minutes.
Do you offer curbside pickup?
Not at this time.
Policies
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept major credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and cash.
Do you charge automatic gratuity?
A 20% gratuity is added to parties of six or more.
Can I bring my own wine or a celebration cake?
Yes. Both are permitted with advance manager approval. We do not charge corkage, cake-cutting, or plating fees.
Catering & Private Events
Do you offer catering and private events?
Yes. We provide catering for corporate events, celebrations, and special occasions, and we can also accommodate private dining experiences.
How far in advance should I book catering?
We recommend providing at least seven days' notice whenever possible.
Do you provide setup items such as utensils and chafing dishes?
Yes. Utensils, serving supplies, and chafing dishes may be available upon request depending on the size and needs of your event.
Parking
Where should I park when visiting Tulsi?
Street parking is available throughout Carytown, and there is a public parking lot conveniently located directly across from the restaurant. Like many Carytown destinations, we do not have dedicated parking, but there are plenty of nearby options within a short walk.
